Automatic transmission oil changes

Every vehicle manufacture has their own guidelines and intervals on transmission oil servicing. BMW for example, recommend that the transmission oil is ‘lifetime’ and should never need replacing. This, in our opinion is not the case and we regularly see automatic vehicles suffering with transmission related issues such as gear slippage, harsh up and downshift, transmission ‘whine’ and transmission failure. This could be due to several different reasons but number one is poor transmission oil quality closely followed by a lack of transmission oil (leak). Both could cause significant damage to your transmission unless treated and repaired correctly.
